Catholic Euro MP’s Cultural Exhibition Banned

Syria - Maaloula

Catholic Euro MP Udo Voigt received permission in October 2015 to stage a photographic exhibition in the Brussels Parliament buildings entitled “Syria’s Legacy – the Cradle of Civilisation”.

In the EU Parliament exhibitions are routine and so after the green light was initially given for this one lots of guests were invited, including many interested diplomats, for the exhibition’s opening on 16th February 2016. The photo exhibition was due to last a week and had generated a lot of positive interest but at the last minute, in what appears to be a shameful political manoeuvre,  the exhibition was forbidden from being presented in the Parliament buildings.

Undeterred, it will now become a travelling exhibition and will be shown in many cities throughout Europe.
