Right to Life inform that:
“This week the abortion lobby has attempted to use the British-Irish Intergovernmental Conference to try and push for Westminster to introduce a radical abortion law to Northern Ireland along with introducing the same drastic change to England and Wales (you can find out more about the radical proposal in this article from Fiona Bruce MP here).
They mobilised over 170 politicians from the Republic of Ireland and the UK to sign a letter that was published in the Sunday Times calling on the British-Irish Intergovernmental Conference to ensure that section 58 and 59 of the Offences Against the Persons Act be repealed from Westminster.
As has been pointed out in an excellent article by Sir Jeffrey Donaldson MP and in a joint counter-letter from politicians across the Republic of Ireland and the UK, it was very inappropriate that these politicians were seeking to hijack the conference to use it as a vehicle to interfere on devolved issues in Northern Ireland and also introduce an extreme abortion law across England and Wales.
If you would like to find out if your MP signed the letter, please enter your postcode below. [ at this link ]
If they did sign the letter, you will then have the option to send an email onto them to let them know that you as a constituent are very concerned about them doing so. This is an easy way for you to demonstrate to your MP that you are one of many people that are concerned about them supporting moves to introducing a radical abortion law and highlight some of the key problems with this change.
It will also help demonstrate that a number of their constituents are against them voting for any amendments to the Domestic Abuse Bill or similar legislative vehicle that will introduce a radical abortion law.”
