Basilica invaded by armed thugs

More news has emerged regarding the operation conducted by the anti-Christian government of Spain in its desecration of the grave of former Head of State General Franco.

The Benedictines of the Abbey of the Holy Cross have affirmed that permission for the exhumation of Franco’s remains had not been granted by them and that armed police from the Civil Guard invaded the private property of the monastery, including the basilica.

“We want it to be on record that the actions of the security forces and the workers have been and are totally incompatible with the principle of the inviolability of places of worship and the rights of this Benedictine community.”

Furthermore the monks were denied access to their own basilica, where the Blessed Sacrament is housed, by armed goons belonging to the Civil Guard.

“……. the Civil Guard, without judicial authorisation to allow it, accessed and wandered about the premises of the abbey and, what is more serious, accessed and wandered about the basilica…….. without any ecclesiastical authorisation and occupying it 24 hours a day…….. chains and padlocks were placed on the access door between the abbey and the basilica,” despite the fact that the monks are “the sole owners and custodians of the church.”

The Benedictines went on to add that because the abbey and basilica were forcefully taken over by a hostile party “without the least supervision” the sacred character of the church was violated and the religious guardians of the basilica are left “not knowing if actions incompatible with worship, piety, or religion have taken place.”

The desecration of Franco’s grave reminds very much of the vile attacks on Christianity in the years and months leading up to the Spanish Civil War, which also involved the desecration of graves.

Gaza Christians an intrinsic part of Palestinian society

“If the international community does not stop Israel’s aggression against the Palestinians,” the technical director of Al-Watania [Media Agency] told me, “you will not see any Christians in Gaza within a decade.”

There are two Christian communities in Gaza – Catholic and Orthodox — but there are no precise statistics for them. Neither of the two Churches in Gaza keeps such records, but according to Tarazi there were more than 30,000 Christians in Gaza in 1948. By 1987, though, when the First Intifada started, the number was only 18,000 and it has continued to decline because of Israeli aggression against the Palestinians. By 2006 there were just 2,500 Palestinian Christians in the enclave. “Today,” said Tarazi, “there are only 800.”

According to the director of public relations at Saint Porphyrius Church in Gaza’s Old City, it is indeed the Israeli aggression which is the main reason for the declining Christian population in the besieged territory. “We are part of the Palestinian people and we are affected by everything that affects everyone else,” Kamel Ayyad pointed out. “We experience all forms suffering under the Israeli occupation like our fellow citizens. Christians who left Gaza and those who are thinking of leaving are escaping from the occupation, siege and military offensives. They are looking for stability and freedom of movement.”

Digging up Franco is a grave attack upon Christianity

The anti-Christian government in Spain is about to desecrate the grave of former Head of State General Francisco Franco and remove his remains to a private family plot. Franco’s resting place is situated behind the high altar of the Catholic Basilica of the Holy Cross of the Valley of the Fallen. On Thursday, 23rd October, the anti-Christian powers in Spain are due to desecrate the sacrosanct property of the Church and trample all over her rights, just as they did in the years leading up to the Spanish Civil War.

In the two years leading up to the Civil War that began in 1936 until its end in 1939, more than 20,000 Christian churches were destroyed. The diabolical anti-Christian hatred unleashed in Spain persecuted, tortured and murdered tens of thousands of Christians in a targeted attack upon Christianity  Nearly 7,000 clergy and religious were cruelly murdered. The martyred include 13 bishops, 4,172 diocesan priests and seminarians, 2,364 monks and friars, and 283 nuns. The military coup, that started the Spanish Civil War proper, was partly in response to these ferocious and murderous attacks upon the Church, her clergy and religious.

In the Valle de los Caidos, the Valley of the Fallen, the basilica, and its surrounding monument, capped by a 500 foot Christian Cross, can be seen from some twenty-miles away. It is carved out of a granite mountain and erected as a symbol of reconciliation and peace, containing as it does the remains of 40,000 people from both warring sides. All their names are recorded in the monument’s register. In a similarly symbolic gesture Franco, the reactionary right-wing pro-capitalist military General, was laid to rest in the basilica next to the popular martyred Spanish nationalist leader Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera who sought social justice for the landless and oppressed and the unity of Spain based upon the social doctrines of the Church.

Interestingly, perhaps a sign of providence at work, Franco went to his eternal judgement on 20th November, the same day, but 39 years later, that Jose Antonio was martyred by the anti-Christian regime just a few months before the beginning of Spain’s Civil War.

With the removal of Franco’s remains and the desecration of the basilica, Spanish Catholics are expecting an increased wave of attacks upon what is left of Christian civilisation in Spain.

A Nun’s Witness

The allegedly ‘moderate’ Free Syrian Army (FSA), funded, trained and armed by the Western Powers, is now re-branded as the Syrian National Army (SNA) and works as the spearhead of Turkey’s invasion force in northern Syria.

With the U.S.A. (and the U.K. and France) apparently no longer interested in pursuing a lost cause and withdrawing from the quagmire it created, those who once lauded the ‘moderate’ murderers when it was in Western government interests to do so now describe the ‘moderate’ opposition they created, funded, armed and trained as “crazy and not reliable.”

And as for the Kurds ……..

Sister Guadalupe Rodrigo, an Argentinian nun who was stationed in Syria for several years from when war broke out reminds us that “the moderate opposition does not exist in Syria ……. There is no moderate opposition. Unless we want to call ‘moderate’ those who dismember Christians. If that is moderate, then yes, there is moderate opposition.”

Christians savaged by Kurds and Turks affirms SOS Chrétiens d’Orient

Alexandre Goodarzy, the French Head of Mission of SOS Chrétien d’Orient in Syria for the past four 4 years, has wondered why the Western media had not woken up when the Turkish regime occupied Afrin and Jarablus areas in the north of Syria and when it supported terrorist groups against the Syrian State?

He told the Syria Times: “Why do the western countries stand by the separatist Kurdish militias in Syria? These militias, mainly PKK and YPG, have been internationally designated as terrorist groups. i.e. why does the West support the Kurds when it puts them on the international terrorist list?

“We in the west have to reconsider our alliances. Our governments have to face the stupid actions they made in the past,” Goodarzy added, referring to the fact that the Kurdish militias in Syria have betrayed the Syrian government and people.

“When the war started in Syria in 2011, the Syrian state gave weapons to the Kurdish groups to defend Syria in the north of the country as the Syrian army had to fight terrorist groups in a lot flashpoint areas , but what happened is that the Kurds used the weapons against the Syrian army and people,” he asserted.

Goodarzy went on to say: “I know that for Syria all Syrian people are united and Kurdish people are part of the Syrian people. Yes, this is exactly the case when we are speaking about the people.  but these military and political militias have taken advantage of the situation since the beginning of the war on Syria.”

He affirmed that the separatist Kurdish militias have practiced suppressive and savage acts against citizens, who contradict their agenda. “For example, they kidnapped many Syrian Christians in Qameshli and forced them to join the fight  alongside YPG. This move came within other measures adopted by those militias against the Syrian Christians in the northeast of Syria because of their loyalty to the Syrian state.”

Now, the population, who has suffered from the brutal practices of the separatist Kurdish militias, are suffering from the Turkish attack and may be tomorrow they will suffer under ISIS because Kurds are telling everybody that they are not able to contain the jail where they have put the members of ISIS.

“What does this mean? Is it a threat?? Are those Kurdish militias saying: if you are not supporting us any more, and if you are letting us down in front of the Turks, we are going to liberate all ISIS prisoners? This is a real problem! And this for us in the western countries is a cruel reality and shows the lies and the bad alliances that we have done in the past,” Goodarzy concluded.
