I’ve known Senator Black for twenty years now and his recent position taken and public discourse is heartening, especially if one loves Syria — for her history, historical religious importance to Christianity, or even for the simple fact that until recently it was just about the only secular country in the region where Christians could continue to live freely in the land of their ancestors. ┬áThis I saw firsthand in 2007 and 2010.
