Signs of the Divine Plan at work, or just mere coincidence?
The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary falls today, 7th October, coming just a short while after the incredible announcement that a sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima will be raised in St. Petersburg. Now, the rosary is very closely related to the events of Fatima, of course. And so is Russia. But to fully underline the profound portent of things that may be to come consider also that today, 7th October, so closely connected to the rosary, is also the birthday of Russian president Vladimir Putin.
Israel Shamir has some interesting observations about President Putin’s state visit to the Vatican on 4th July.
“As long as Moscow had been Red and atheist, the Church had no choice but to stick with Washington. Now it makes no sense” ……… read more
In his recent interview with the Financial Times, President Vladimir Putin condemned the attack of Liberalism on the Catholic Church and the attempt to replace Christianity with Liberal ‘values’.
“Sometimes, I have the feeling that these liberal circles are beginning to use certain elements and problems of the Catholic Church as a tool to destroy the Church itself. This is what I consider wrong and dangerous.”
He went on to say that “traditional values are more stable and more important to millions of people than this liberal idea.”
A Polish friend of SGET sums it up nicely. She writes:
” Economic Liberalism (the base), or Capitalism, dictates the superstructure (Cultural Liberalism) to increase Capitalists’ profits” .
But what does the Church propose in opposition to Economic Liberalism?
Find out in this short article: The Corporatist remedy to Economic Liberalism
Since President Putin became President of Russia in 2000, the number of abortions has dropped by 63.5% and the number of Russians steadfastly opposed to abortion has tripled from 12% to 35%.
There are still a massive 800,000 induced abortions in Russia every year but developing policies of pro-life education and family support aim at making Russia abortion free within the next generation.
“Let us resort again to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, for some politically incorrect common sense on the notion of “culture,” which he is taking in its broadest but real sense as the values, standards and way of life of different peoples at the national and international level.”
“Pray for Putin not to be assassinated, because God’s enemies hate him, not without reason – he is leading his country towards its Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, which will put off, at least for a while, the Antichrist. May She protect him.”
A petition of more than one million signatories is being handed to President Putin today, calling for a complete and total ban on abortion in Russia. That’s the same as more than half-a-million people in Britain petitioning for a complete ban on abortion, and is the biggest petition to government in Russian history.
The signatures were collected by more than 5,000 activists from the Russian Pro-Life association ‘Za zhizn’ and others.
The Russian Pro-Life Association works hard every day to save unborn children: they advise pregnant women in difficulty, offer economic support and even provide homes for young mothers and destitute families. As well as providing direct support to help mothers keep their babies, they carry out constant cultural and informational activities including conferences, exhibitions, round-tables, and street leafleting.
Our Russian friends are asking for the prayers, moral support and publicity of the pro-life environment around the world on this auspicious day.
Experienced pro-family activist, and pro-life counselor, Anna Kuznetsova, who is a 34 year-old mother of six children, has been appointed as Ombudsman for Children’s Rights for the Russian Federation by President Putin.
The post of Children’s Ombudsman was created in 2009 and provides for the Ombudsman to supply expert advice and to present conclusions and recommendations to legislative bodies on any issues concerning children. The Ombudsman also has the power to review the work and make enquiries of any Federal or Municipal body and can file complaints whenever necessary.
“Should Turkey not stop supporting al-Qaeda’s Syria branch, I am indeed eager to end the job the late Tsar Nicholas II left unfinished. During the World War I , He sought to restore Constantinople to Christendom……….. ”
When I look at the state of the world I understand that Vladimir Putin is the only defender of Christian civilization one can count on.
